hello,
Just wondering if anyone has had to do a power point in school High school. College.
Making one. Presenting one and your experiences.
I haven't done it, but I know it could be done. Have you yet Jesus?
i've done it, for both work and study ereason. it can be hard to get started, but ones you got the concept right, its quite user friendly. but yet depends on what sort of presentation you gonna do. if presentation with graphics or photographs, the best is to ask some help from someone sighted.
at least, they can see either you graphics are on top of the sentences or vise verser.
jfwlite.com have some nice toturial for jaws user to get started with powerpoint too. or it use to, anyway. i think, freedomscientific toturial's page have some tips too.
all the best, cheers
oh yeah, it depends on what version of powerpoint you talkiing about too. from what i've been told, ms powerpoint 2003 and 2007 are difference. i was using 2003 when i created my presentations, and i heard 2007 is more complecated than that, but i've not try it myself.
good luck, cheers
I make powerpoints all the time, if you need help just let me know.
The only question I have for a power point is when you are viewing a power point, how do you go from the first slide say to the second and to the third and maybe back to the second?
i found the only way you can do it easily is put it on full screen using f5 key. then, it will say, viewing slite show. to get from slite 1 to 2, to the next one you can press space bar, or kerser down. with the kerser down, sometime it works sometime it dont.
and to back to the last slite, you can backspace it, or kerser up again. the thing is, sometime jaws will still reading the same slite while you actually already move to the next slite visually. if that happen, usually i just escape the slite show, and do it again.
thats my idea, not too sure if it will work, but, it work for me.
cheers,
Season
I have done a lot of power point presentations in the past. It will be easy ones you get used to it. Sometimes though it can be a hassle because if your presentation is a long outline of information and you have to lecture a bit of everything into detail, your given time won’t be enough to cite everything. There’s always a time requirement on your presentation rubric. Make your to follow those cause it may help increase or decrease your grade. You can customize the power point depending on how much time you need, just make sure that practice first before presenting. What I usually do is I write three or four points per page and cover them in alignment with the topic. Just make sure to be organized with your ideas; adding transitional words would be helpful too. As far as putting images and some other forms of media such as graphics, music, or video, its up to you. The most important thing to remember is that, your power point should answer the purpose of the assignment whether it be to define, describe, illustrate, compare and contrast or analyze. It all depends on your topic. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
Okay, I get your point with space and backspace but do you mean the arrow keys when you indicate cursor up or down?
I know that you can also use your page up and down keys if that makes it easier. My school has power point 2007 and all of the grids confuses me. As for the photo and other media content have some sited assistance for that. As poster 3 said.
I've tried the page up and down and it didn't seem to work, do you have to press something before it? I've tried to go in to a power point that someone has made, look up and down and Paged up and down and it didn't seemed to have worked.
hmm.
When viewing it with the F5 Key it works.
Oh, f5, I see.
you need to view it with f5 key before you can page up and down or simply erro up and down. it actually work on the main window if you have the right view, but jaws simply won't read it unless you have the screen on slite view, which is f5.
the key point towards powerpoint presentation is try to put as little information as you can in a slite, as one of the post said, 4 points is a good one for a slite. however, try to make it interesting for sighted viewer. it does not make any different for us with or without graphics, but its something very important for sighted viewer. if you crash in with too many informations, or simply with words, it is not as attractive as graphics and words.
another thing about powerpoint presentation is the belance of everything. so, depends on how you lay out your presentation, and how much informatio you want to put in.
Thank you, that was very helpful.
thanks alot.
